I bought Sugru before I made my own. It's expensive and you get just a small dollup of it. I would have 20 or more packets to do the repair on my table. So the DIY version was a better option for me and worked just as good if not better. I found that Sugru does not stick to certain surfaces like it's advertised.
This works great. I made some replacement parts for my outdoor patio table. After years of use the plastic holders that held the legs in place dried and cracked. I made new ones using this method.
This would be great for Thanksgiving when you have to peel a ton of tators.
